We are searching for an experienced Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator to strengthen our Antibody Discovery team. The ideal candidate will have previous relevant working experience and be inspired to work in the biotechnology industry. This position offers a standard schedule of 30 hours per week with an annual salary range of $44,000 to $52,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. There may be an opportunity to expand this role to full-time hours with an adjusted salary range of $55,000 to $65,000, contingent upon the selected candidate’s qualifications and ability to perform work in our laboratory facilities.
This position is based in Victoria, BC. where the main activity is fee-for-service antibody development for international clients.

Ordering and Receiving
- Perform supply and equipment ordering and receiving for the site
- Verify the receipt of ordered goods as outlined in the purchase order
- Expedite urgent orders as needed
- Ensure that deliveries are received as expected and routed as planned/scheduled
- Ensure all documents required are filed / scanned appropriately in the IPA system
- Liaise with accounts payable to match supplier invoices with packing slips and purchase orders for payment
- Rectify wrong orders, discrepancies, damaged stock, or back-order issues
- Manage vendor relationships and identify strategic purchasing opportunities
- Develop cost-saving initiatives in alignment with company objectives
- Research potential new vendors and perform risk analysis
Inventory Management
- Oversee inventory levels and reorder supplies in a timely manner
- Perform quarterly inventory counts and track changes quarter over quarter
- Organize lab supplies for logical and efficient storage
- Ensure consistent distribution of supplies across multiple laboratory spaces
- Monitor usage trends and adjust inventory practices accordingly
Financial Administration
- Perform monthly credit card reconciliation in dedicated expense software
- Review lab credit card purchases for accuracy and correct tax application
- Track and allocate client and R&D expenses to appropriate projects
- Post-secondary education and/or previous work experience in purchasing and/or supply chain
- Scientific background or industry experience with scientific products preferred
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- High proficiency with Microsoft 365 System, including Teams, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and expense programs
- Shipping experience is an asset
- Strong communication, self-directed organization, and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively on a team and independently
- Work is performed in a laboratory environment, involving the handling of items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be highly motivated with a flexible, hands-on mentality
- Must be dependable and able to manage deadlines
