Job description
The Global Accountant, reporting to the Controller, will prepare journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable transactions, Project Accounting, bank reconciliations, and perform analytical review and prepare financial statements.
Key responsibilities shall include:
- Prepare bank reconciliations of multiple accounts and monitor cash balances across entities
- Accounts Receivable duties include emailing invoices, applying client payments, and collection follow up
- Coordinate with procurement, operations and accounting to ensure efficient and accurate purchase order processing, matching, and resolution of discrepancies
- Monitor, maintain and enhance internal controls in relation to the Accounts Payable and cash disbursement functions
- Manage the corporate credit card programs, including policies and procedures and address escalated issues
- Prepare journal entries
- Import and post time to projects
- Review and reconcile intercompany accounts and transactions, along with key balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure accurate reporting and compliance
- Maintain schedules to support accurate general ledger accounting and required disclosures
- Support monthly revenue recognition process in NetSuite, creating reporting for project review meetings with project managers, provide general ledger support and review
- Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with IFRS and established closing schedule, ensuringaccuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
- Assist with internal and external audits, insurance renewals and tax return preparations
- Responsible for special projects and other duties as assigned
- Work collaboratively and maintain effective relationships with global business partners and finance team
Requirements:
- BS degree in accounting or a combination of education and relevant work experience
- Proven experience as an accountant, preferably in a global setting with multiple currencies, with a strong understanding of accounting and financial principles (e.g., IFRS, GAAP), laws, and practices.
- Self starter who will take initiative with the ability to learn quickly and balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment
- Proficient with ERP technology and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills
- Detail oriented, strong organizational skills with ability to carry out tasks with minimal supervision and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team
